El HVU-RC incorpora las más recientes técnicas de diagnóstico por imagen, como son la tomografía axial computarizada (TAC), la gammagrafía y varios métodos de ecografía. Entre las modalidades terapéuticas avanzadas empleadas en nuestro centro, destacan la terapia con radioisótopos, la cirugía láser y las técnicas quirúrgicas mínimamente invasivas, como la artroscopia o la laparoscopia.
Tanto si viene por una urgencia, como si acude por una de nuestras especialidades o por atención primaria, será tratado con todo el cuidado que su animal necesita. Se le informará adecuadamente acerca de la condición de su animal, las distintas opciones para su tratamiento, recomendaciones específicas, el pronóstico del caso, así como de los gastos que suponen todos estos actos clínicos para que pueda tomar la decisión más adecuada.
Si su veterinario le ha remitido a nuestro hospital, también formará parte del caso. Será informado sobre la condición del animal y el tratamiento instaurado para ayudar a asegurar una evolución positiva.
Nuestro personal, formado por catedráticos y profesores titulares de la USC, facultativos de plantilla, veterinarios internos, personal técnico y estudiantes de la Facultad de Veterinaria, colaborarán con usted y con su veterinario habitual para proporcionar a su animal la mejor atención posible.

Surgery
The hospital has a surgical area of almost 1,000 m2 and all the equipment necessary to carry out operations on big animals in two operating rooms reserved for this purpose. Moreover, the professors and staff go on site to farms and shelters when the animals cannot be taken to the hospital.

Diagnostic Imaging Service
The hospital can provide ultrasound, X-rays, computed axial tomography (CAT) scans, for both clinical cases as well as for investigative purposes. With the help of the professors assigned to this service, students become familiarized with how to read images and receive corroboration when making a diagnosis. The new technologies have helped in the digitalization of these processes.

Clinical analysis
Among the services offered at the clinic and veterinary hospital or clinic, lab work, along with other services, is a fundamentally important aid for correct clinical diagnosis. The Veterinarian responsible for the case is the one who requests one or more analyses from the laboratory. The analyses are very valuable as they can either complement a suspected diagnosis or help to vary it.

Pathological anatomy
In this service, students do practical training and are supervised by a professor from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at all times. During this practical training, they carry out macroscopic examination of organs, take samples and do tissue processing in the laboratory in order to discover what the animal is suffering from.

Radiotherapy
The radiotherapy unit of the HVU-Rof Codina has a pump of cobalt 60, which is located in the Radiophysics laboratory of the USC in the Campus of Santiago. This equipment, which emit high energy gamma radiation, allows to treat tumors located at some depth in the tissues.

Pharmacy
The pharmacy at the Rof Codina Clinical Veterinary Hospital is has its own medicine distribution and administration service with one differentiating factor: it is an internal service for veterinarians.

Residual Drugs in Food Products Service
This free service which provides information on the prevention of residue in animal products is provided by the Rof Codina Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, USC.

Hospitalization
The hospital has inpatient areas for small animals, ICU, large animal hospital and a quarantine and isolation ward for infectious animal diseases. There is a total of over 2,000 m2 inpatient areas.
Itinerant Service Animal of Income
The livestock farms close to the hospital be ascribed agreements individualized to a circuit of itinerant visits that aims to make on-site medical and surgical performances.
This service, available 24 hours for urgent, daily performs a route different with Professor, accompanied by four students travelling in a van that is adapted to carry out home care.

Unit of equidae
HVU-RC is the official training to identify pure-bred animals and provides a specific service to meet all activity relating to horses in hospital and at home.
This type of activity is increased substantially between the months of March and June, fertile species time.
A series of agreements with institutions and clinics complete attention to equidae activity, as well as the establishment of a center of Rams of the State.

Cardiorespiratory unit
Ambulatory electrocardiography is done over a 24 hour period with a Holter monitor. Eco-cardiograph studies and congenital diseases, like patent ductus arteriosus, are repaired using surgical techniques.

Skin conditions are easily detected and represent some of the most common cases seen here.

Gastroenterology
Along with the rest of the laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging procedures, flexible endoscopy equipment makes it possible to visualize and take samples so as to determine the reason behind chronic digestive disorders. Sample taking and the help of the anatomical pathologists make it possible to diagnose many digestive disorders in many different animal species.

Reproduction & obstetrics
Assessment of breeding females and males, semen preservation, and diagnosis and treatment of reproductive system disorders in female and male animals are treated here.

Ophthalmology
The hospital has a surgical operating microscope and can also perform phacoemulsifications and electroretinography; thus all types of ocular diseases may be addressed. The most common ones encountered are vision loss due to cataracts or problems with the retina, as well as other problems such as ulcers or eye trauma.

Traumatology / Orthopedic
