At the different services available at the hospital a wide variety of lines of research are underway; frequently they make use of several disciplines at once. Hence, in relation to the area of surgery and traumatology, the evolution of biomaterials in osteosynthesis and the importance of its effects on the process of bone reparation is being studied.

Diagnostic imaging service is involved in the development of knowledge about wildlife radiographic Anatomy and different aspects of vascular ultrasound.There are also trials on the safety and efficacy of different anesthetic protocols in veterinary medicine.

At the Pathological Anatomy Unit, importance is placed on the investigation of morpho-pathological techniques which can be used in the diagnosis of illnesses in domestic and wild animals and fish.

In the wide scope of veterinary medicine the work related to the study of cerebral aging and neurodegeneration as applied to the Alzheimer illness stands out. Other lines have oriented their efforts towards the area of medicine and health for wild species, or towards learning more about mineral and bone metabolic diseases. From the different services of the hospital, develops a wide range of research that often present a multidisciplinary involvement. As well, related to the field of surgery and Traumatology studies evaluation of biomaterials of osteosynthesis of great importance in the process of bone repair.
